BENEFITS OF REFLEXOLOGY

WHAT THE RESEARCH SAYS

According to the Mayo Clinic reflexology is generally relaxing and may be an effective way to alleviate stress. Studies funded by the National Cancer Institute and the National Institutes of Health indicate that reflexology may reduce pain and psychological symptoms, such as anxiety and depression, and enhance relaxation and sleep. Now think about the amount of stress your feet can go through everyday. We carry all of our weight on our feet, we stand, run and jump and our feet are built with the same stuff as the rest of our bodies; skin, nerves, tendons muscles, bones.  The benefits of reflexology and foot massage are endless – not to mention you’ll absolutely love how it feels!

This place is amazing. I called ahead to make an appointment for both myself and my friend; we have been dying to try it out. The lady that answered the phone was wonderful and had perfect phone etiquette. When we got there we enjoyed the 1 hour treatment. It was a godsend. My girlfriend works in security and I work in a restaurant so we are constantly on our feet all day and night. The 2 gentlemen that took care of us we perfect. The guy that took care of me was sam I’m not sure of the other ones name. If you like pressure and a heavier hand they are perfect to do the trick. I’m not sure of anyone else but thank you to all 3 of you for making this day perfect for us. We both don’t want to go to work today because we feel too amazing! We will definitely be back and have already thought about where we will be cutting costs to make it a bi weekly to weekly event Mandi Halavin

From start to finish, this was a wonderful treat! I was greeted warmly at the door and escorted back to the massage area. Very relaxing environment. First a foot soak and neck and shoulder massage. Then lie back in a very comfy recliner and what happened next was nothing short of perfection. Lilly is well trained in reflexology and worked out all the knots and kinks. I feel like a new person! I’m going back next week. ❤

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW DOES REFLEXOLOGY WORK?

Nerve Impulses – Parasympathetic branch of the autonomic nervous system. Reflexology works through the nerve endings to relax and calm the body. Manual pressure applied to the feet or hands stimulate the nerve endings through the neural pathways to the central nervous system and back.

  • TCM Meridian Theory (Chi or Ki) energy pathways are stimulated during Reflexology, helping to clear blockages along these channels.
  • Gate Control and Endorphin release for pain management.
  • The intrinsic need for nurturing human touch to give a sense of overall well-being and improve the quality of life.
WHAT ABOUT CHILDREN?

Yes, children are welcome. You and your family can use Reflexology as a means to comfort, bond, and relax with each other.

WHY SHOULD I GET REFLEXOLOGY?

Reflexology is becoming one of the fastest growing complementary therapies in the U.S. Reflexology can help reduce the side effects of many chronic conditions. Many of today’s health problems are due in a large part, to stress. We live in a world of constant stress. If left unchecked, stress can produce ill effects – mental, physical, and emotional. Reflexology relaxes the body and helps to combat the negative effects of stress. Reflexology is safe and effective for just about everyone.

DO I HAVE TO TAKE MY CLOTHES OFF?

No, only your shoes and socks are removed.

IS REFLEXOLOGY SAFE – WHO CAN USE IT?

The beauty of Reflexology is that it is safe for just about anyone. Young and old can benefit. There are some reasons where Reflexology should not be considered, or to be used with extreme caution – among those are:

  • Infections of the foot or contagious illness.
  • Deep Vein Thrombosis, Severe Edema.
  • High-Risk pregnancy or history of miscarriage.
  • Trauma to the feet (broken bones, open sores or wounds, osteoporosis).
  • Any serious health condition – consult your physician.
ARE REFLEXOLOGISTS DOCTORS?

No, Reflexologists do not prescribe or adjust medications, diagnose, or treat for a specific illness.

WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN REFLEXOLOGY AND FOOT MASSAGE

Many people confuse Reflexology with Massage. There are many differences between these two modalities – each having its own strengths, application, and techniques for example. Massage is performed to the soft tissues of the body. Reflexology is performed only the feet, hands or ears. Reflexology is a science based on the premise that there are zones and reflex areas in the feet, hands and ears, which correspond to all glands, organs, parts and systems of the body. The physical act of applying pressure using the thumb, finger and hand techniques to these areas results in the reduction of stress which promotes physiological changes in the body.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I GET REFLEXOLOGY

Frequency of visits depends on your health and wellness goals. Clients with chronic conditions can benefit from bi-weekly or weekly sessions. Monthly visits can help keep stress in check and build immunity. Weekly to every other week is common to average. But there is nothing keeping you from maximizing your relaxation and coming as often as you like.
